We are seeking an Engineering Manager to join our backend team in Paris, France.
This position includes technical responsibilities on the FuboTV platform and its CMS, and a managerial position leading a 9-person backend team composed of diverse talents, from junior developers to experienced senior engineers.
On the technical side, the backend services are written in Go, use SQL/NoSQL databases, messaging, cache layers and are hosted on the Google Cloud Platform.
An ideal candidate is proficient in Go (to help the team to grow their skills day to day and contribute as an individual contributor), strong understanding of complex architectures and have experience managing developers and a good social fiber to ease the communication between the teams.
In our very backend driven platform you will join the well-established backend team, with a focus on three main areas:
Presentation API layer (with the help of a pair manager in the US).
The CMS, that helps us to delegate day to day tasks to the marketing and editorial teams.
Molotov legacy platform backend services maintenance (hosted on AWS).
You will report to Molotov CTO also located in Paris and you will be part of the global Fubo engineering organization with offices in NYC, Paris and Bangalore.
Responsibilities:
Manage a team of 9 people, based in France ;
Closely collaborate with US counterparts and drive tech initiatives and processes/tooling improvements ;
Participate in writing the RFCs to conduct technical changes (with the pair frontend and backend Engineering Managers) ;
Help the team stay up to date with the Go language and their technical skills ;
Work day to day with the product team to estimate technical requirements ;
Contribute to the services code ;
Maintain the Molotov backend legacy code until we release the global unified platform ;
In collaboration with the CMS product managers, lead the technical decisions to improve the CMS ;
Participate in new hirings when needed.
